Walk a city you're not in.

Pick a place. Watch it. Wander somewhere new.

Type a city — Kyoto, Lisbon, Valparaíso — and the map flies there and pulls up 4K walking tours from YouTube. Save the ones worth returning to. Track the places you've been in your passport. If you want serendipity, hit Surprise me and the app drops you somewhere unexpected.

It's built for a particular way of spending time: slow, aimless, and curious. A flâneur is someone who strolls the city without destination, paying attention to the rhythm of streets and the texture of ordinary life. Baudelaire called it "botanising on the asphalt." It's a nice way to spend an afternoon but hard to do from your kitchen in a different hemisphere. That's what this app is trying to offer: the flâneur's stroll, somebody else's feet, somewhere you can't be right now.

Under the hood

Frontend is plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with Leaflet for the map and the YouTube Iframe API for playback. A small FastAPI backend proxies the YouTube Data API and caches responses in Redis, so popular places don't re-hit the quota every time.

Built for the joy of wandering.
